Joey Lynn Taylor

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Joey Lynn Taylor, a man who was loved and admired by many. Joey was born to Newell and Gladys Taylor on June 29, 1956, and transitioned from this life on July 16, 2026. Through his journey of 70 years, he touched many lives with his wisdom, work ethic, humor and an unwavering spirit of perseverance. Driven by the endless urgency of the land Joey’s career of farming spanned over 50 years with his dad as a teen and many years with his brother Jimmy, eventually moving out on his own with his son Jerrad by his side. Joey was Jerrad’s best friend and Best Man at his wedding. He enjoyed many years of hunting, passing these hobbies on to Jerrad and his grandson, Harrison, who seems to be obsessed with fishing now. This brought great pleasure to Joey. He was actually a member of the local bass club for many years and served as president for a couple of years. Another thing Joey also enjoyed doing when his sons were young was the opportunity to squeeze in the time to coach their baseball teams for a few years. In 2010, Joey and Jerrad continued to show their love of hunting and buying guns to open Taylor Arms. Joey is preceded in death by his son Nickolas and survived by the love of his life, Debra Taylor, of 50 years, son Jerrad and daughter-in-law Lindsey and four grandchildren, Harrison, Annabelle, Lockelyn and Landry. Joey absolutely adored all four of them by spoiling them and he loved being called Pops. Joey grew up attending Grace Baptist with his parents then eventually Valley View Baptist. He attended Wynne Baptist Church when he could. Joey touched the lives of everyone he met with his selflessness as well as his generous spirit which will be remembered forever. He leaves a legacy of sacrifice, strength, dedication and commitment for his family and those who truly knew him. Visitation of Joey’s life will be held Monday, July 20, 2026, 9 to 11, with Celebration of Life service beginning at 11:00 at Wynne Baptist Church, 1200 Bridges Avenue East, with Pastor Matt Dunavant officiating. Burial will follow at Crosslawn Cemetery in Wynne. Pallbearers are Mark South, Leon Sorrels, Robert Meyer, Ronnie Turner, Mike Locke, Jamey Taylor, Brad McKnight and Jerry Boeckmann. Honorary pallbearers are Kenneth McKnight, Bryan McKnight, Ricky Stutts, C.E. Newman and Wesley Lintz. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Joey’s memory to Wynne Baptist Church, 1200 Bridges, or CrossRidge Auxiliary at 310 S. Falls, Wynne, Arkansas.
