Don Lee Taegtmeyer

“Blessed is everyone who fears the Lord, who walks in his ways? You shall eat the fruit of the labor of your hands, you shall be blessed, and it shall be well with you.” Psalm 128:1-2 Born March 19, 1960, Don Lee Taegtmeyer passed from this earth on January 8, 2023, after a brief battle with a sudden, serious illness. Don was 62 years old and was born in Cross County, Arkansas, near Wynne, where he lived all of his life. He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Tammy and two daughters, Jessi Teale (Matt) of Hot Springs, AR, and Taylor Moore (Clint) of Fayetteville, AR. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Charlee, Leighton, and Dylan Teale and John Moore. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Forrestine Taegtmeyer, and his brother, Ricky Taegtmeyer. Don was a Christian man who loved the Lord! Don retired from a successful farming operation in 2018. Prior to then, he was known to say he had few memories that didn’t include farming. The only thing he loved seeing more than a clean, lush field of rice or soybeans growing in the summer was the last field of the harvest and the combine running smoothly over the land in the fall. Anyone who knew Don, knew him to be a hard worker! He was committed to success and taking care of business. More than being a hardworking man, he was most committed to being a devoted family man to Tammy and his girls. Don did all he could to see his family thrive and grow. He was very proud of his daughters and the men they married. Seeing Jessi and Taylor carve out a family each of their own and beginning to raise their children in church meant a lot to him. And, of course, the grandchildren had a Papaw that loved them dearly. Being blessed enough to have some years in retirement, Don spent his time outside working on projects, exercising, hunting, fishing, seeing new places, driving his car too fast around curves, firing up the grill for something delicious, enjoying family and friends, sitting on the deck watching God’s handiwork with the sunset over Lake Hamilton and cruising the lake on his boat (happiest when the grandbabies were screaming, “faster Papaw faster”). Funeral services will begin at 2:30 PM, with Bro. Tracy Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Cogbill Cemetery, Wynne, Arkansas.
