Clara Pearl Newman Moery

Clara Pearl Newman Moery, 80, stepped into heaven on February 20, 2025. Clara, known as “Memaw” to many, loved Jesus and her family and taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to do the same. She was a regular at the ballfields and arena watching her many grands and great-grands participating in the many sports she loved. Watching them was the joy of her life. She was a lifetime devoted fan of the Razorbacks and could be found attending games or in front of the tv calling the Hogs loudly. She was a devoted member of Wynne Baptist Church her entire adult life where she taught youth Sunday School for many years and then graduated to the nursery where she loved on generations of babies. She also was chair of the Bereavement Committee and felt called to serve families in their time of grief. She went on many overseas mission trips and left a legacy of spreading the love of Jesus to the world. Her happy places were Snowmass, CO. surrounded by her family on the slopes and at Sunday lunch feeding the masses. She joined her family members who went before her – her parents, Tye and Ida Newman and her beloved sister, Lottie Courtney. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Bryan, who cared for her faithfully the last several years; daughter, CaraKay Copes and husband Larry; son Pete Moery and wife, Kelly; grandchildren Blake McClanahan and wife Lindsey; Bryanna Irvin, and husband Blake; Alex Moery, and wife Brittany, Reed Wingo, and wife Lindsey; Blair McClanahan; Brady Wingo, and wife Maggie; Autumn Eastep and husband Colton; and Jenny Claire Moery; six great-grandchildren, and her sweet brother C.E. Newman. She is also survived by her “person,” treasured niece Kellye Ramsey and husband Willie; nephew, Buddy Courtney, as well as 5 beloved nieces and their spouses and children- Julie Sosebee, Courtney Hirons, Claire Eaton, Kady Newton and Nikki Courtney, brother-in-law, Phillip Moery, and nieces Sophie Moore and Leye Blount. If she met you once, she loved you forever. She was a friend and family to many, but “Memaw” to all. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Wynne Baptist Church from 12:30 until 2 PM. Funeral services will follow at 2 PM with Rev. Matt Dunavant and Rev. Don Dunavant officiating.
