    Thomas B. "Oscar" Grafton

    June 14, 1935 - February 23, 2021

Thomas Biggs "Oscar" Grafton, of Vanndale, died on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at his home. We are thankful that he is finally healed and is whole again! Thomas was born in Memphis, Tennessee, on June 14, 1935, to the late Wallin Biggs Grafton and Dorothy Green Grafton. He worked for Halstead for 28 years and worked with his dad and Bob Stafford in Grafton Mercantile. He loved to hunt, fish, and work in his yard. He served in the National Guard and was deployed to Little Rock during the Central High School Integration. In 1957, he married Miss Glenda Davis and made Cherry Valley - Vanndale Communities their home where they raised two boys, Jeff and Scott. What a wonderful man our "Tuddie" was. He was caring and a great encouragement to others. Most of all that he was proud of his family. We were blessed and proud to call him the leader of our family! We have learned so many valuable lessons from this man and are beyond grateful that he was able to teach those same lessons to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. We are all saddened, but could never ask for him back in the shape he was in recently. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Glenda Davis Grafton of the home, sons, Jeff Grafton of Vanndale, Scott Grafton and wife Kris of Marion, uncle William Grafton of Clifton, Tennessee, grandchildren, Aaron Grafton, Emily McGee, Sarah Weslea, Sydney Elise, and Emma Jane Grafton, great grandchildren, Canon, Cash, and Caden McGee, and Katie Grafton. He is also survived by his long time best friend and neighbor, Coy Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallin and Dorothy Grafton, brother, David Grafton, stepsiblings, Beverly Thompson and Jimmy Rowe, and brother, Bob Stafford. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at 10 AM at Vanndale Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Childrens Hospital, 501 St. Jude's Place, Memphis, Tn 38105 or online at www.stjude.org. Arkansas Department of Health guidelines for COVID-19, states that face coverings are required for any indoor gatherings, please always maintain social distancing.
