Rosie South Brawner

Rosie South Brawner, of Wynne, Arkansas, died on April 29, 2022, at CrossRidge Community Hospital in Wynne. Rosie was born in Colt, Arkansas, on June 10, 1932, to the late W. E. South and Nina May Miller South. She was a homemaker who loved to cook, sew, and working in the yard taking care of her flowers. Getting together with her kids, grandchildren, and friends for "cook outs" was one of her favorite things to do. She enjoyed camping and fishing. She married J. L. Brawner on June 19, 1951, at Fitzgerald Crossing Baptist Church. She was a faithful member of Fitzgerald, where she served in many areas, especially Vacation Bible School. She is survived by her son, Kim Brawner and wife Cecily of Fayetteville, daughters, Alesha Johnson and husband Randy, Cindy Miller and husband Jackson, all of Wynne, grandchildren, Carey Loveday and husband Justin, Kurt Johnson and wife Leslie, Jennifer Henson, Jamie Stratman and husband Steve. She is also survived by great grandchildren, Dylan and Emily Loveday, Cole, Avery and Collin Johnson and Jarrett and Jacey Henson, and sister, Susie South Shirley. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. L. Brawner in January 2022, grandson, Benji Johnson, parents, W. E. and Nina May South, brothers, Ezra, Floyd, Leslie, and Clyde, and sisters, Bertha, Zilphia, and Dorthy Bea. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Kernodle Funeral Home from 10 am until 11 am. Graveside services will follow at Cogbill Cemetery at 11 am.
