    Paul E Cockrell

    August 17, 1923 - July 7, 2019

    Mr. Paul Cockrell of Wynne, died on July 7, 2019 at his home. Paul was born on August 17, 1923. in Gurdon, Arkansas, to the late Herbert Wayne Cockrell and Ethel Gates Cockrell. Paul married Nema Kassinger in 1948. They settled in Wynne where they raised their son, Charles. He also lived in Helena and Forrest City and was retired from Bell Telephone. He was a member of Rotary and received the Paul Harris Fellow award. He was a 32nd degree mason, Shriner and served 27 years on the Wynne City Council. Paul proudly served his country during World War II and was a member of the Submarine Vets. He is survived by his wife, Nema K. Cockrell of the home, son, Charles Wayne Cockrell and wife Ann of Sinking Spring, PN, sister-in-law, Jackie Alsobrook of Memphis, nephew, Steve Alsobrook and wife Ruth of Memphis, niece, Kathy Cockrell Foust and husband Kelly of Little Rock, niece Carol Cockrell Gephart and husband Butch of Little Rock, niece, Rosie Cockrell Byrns and husband Dick of Little Rock, niece, Jo Cockrell Atwood and husband Gary of Little Rock, nephew, Melvin Cockrell, Jr. of Houston, niece, Bobbie Jean Neff and husband Charles of Houston, nephew Ken Kassinger and wife Susie of Savannah, Georgia, and niece Kay Kassinger of Port Angeles, Washington. Visitation will be on Friday, July 12, 2019 from 12 to 1:30 PM at Kernodle Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 12, 2019 at 2 PM at the Arkasnas State Veterans Cemetery in Birdeye. Memorials may be made to the Wynne Presbyterian Church, P. O. Box 585, Wynne, AR 72396 or a charity of the donor's choice. Kernodle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. You may sign a guestbook at www.kernodlefh.com
