Mary Josephine Keister Elliot

Mary Josephine Keister Elliott, age 89, of White Deer, Pennsylvania, died on October 9th, 2020, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center in Jonesboro, AR. Mrs. Elliott was born on December 14th, 1930, in Middleburg, PA. She was the daughter of William Luther Keister and Mary Mabel Benner. She lived in Pennsylvania most of her life and moved to Wynne Ar. in 2010. She was a member of Faith Chapel United Methodist Church in White Deer PA. and the VFW and American Legion auxiliary in Milton, PA. Mrs. Elliott married Elwood Elliott in 1948, who preceded her in death in 2001. Also preceding her in death was her son Thomas Elliott who died in 2018. Her surviving family includes her son Christopher Elliott, his wife Catherine Elliott, eight grandchildren Christina Pysher, Jake Elliott, Mollie Elliott, Lydia Elliott, Miriam Elliott, Dorcas Elliott Thomas, Naomi Elliott, Hannah Elliott, and Zeke Elliott, and 3 great-grandchildren, Oliver, Harrison, and Hazel. She loved to crochet and enjoyed visiting with her family and sneaking treats to the family dogs. She was sassy, and had a wry sense of humor, often quoting Pennsylvania Dutch phrases she learned from her mother “Heile heile hühnerdreck bis morgen früh ist alles weg.” (Heal, heal, chicken crap, it will all be gone tomorrow) Mary Jo’s wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to Wynne Friends of Animals.
