Mae Evelyn Stringfellow Jordan Leverette Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mae Evelyn Stringfellow Jordan Leverette, 92, of Wynne, died on Monday, November 1, 2021, at Crestpark Skilled of Wynne. Evelyn was born on June 4, 1929, to Sam and Mattie Cozart Stringfellow in Memphis, Tennessee. She was the 5th of seven children, three sisters and three brothers, who have all preceded her in death. She married Jimmy Jordan in 1944 while living in Memphis. They had two children, Robert "Bobby", who preceded her in death and Evelyn Baldwin Weaver of Wynne. On May 6, 1949, she married Theodore Roosevelt Leverette, who preceded her in death on June 10, 1989. They had four children, Ted, Mary Lynn, Ruth Anne and Jeanette. Evelyn owned and operated Wynne Radiator Shop on Wilson Street for many years. She was known for her hard work ethic, love for the Lord, and beautiful music. She was a charter member of Union Avenue Baptist Church, where she served as church clerk, pianist and organist before her health failed. Evelyn was also a member of the Wynne Chapter #399, Order of the Eastern Star. Evelyn is survived by her son, Ted R. Leverette and wife Judy of Wynne, daughters, Ruth Anne Henson Lawrence and husband Bill of Wynne, Jeanette White and husband Richard of Greenwood and Evelyn Baldwin Weaver of Wynne, son-in-law, Steve McKnight of Wynne, 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Mattie Stringfellow, son, Bobby Jordan, daughter, Mary Lynn McKnight in 2021, grandson, Mike Baldwin, three sisters and three brothers. Visitation will be held at Kernodle Funeral Home, Wednesday, November 3, 2021, from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Kernodle Funeral Home, Thursday, November 4, 2021, at 10 AM with burial in Crosslawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
