    Ella Jo Martin Cook

    March 27, 1941 - July 5, 2020

    Ella Jo Martin Cook of Wynne, died Sunday, July 5, 2020 at her home. Jo was born on March 27, 1941, in Cross County to the late Thomas Luther Martin and Eva Luker Martin. In 1958, Jo married Maxie Joe (Doodle) Cook. Jo was a homemaker, caregiver and a member of Union Avenue Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons, Joey Cook and wife Manuela of Forrest City, Martin Cook and wife Judy of Wynne, Greg Cook and wife Faye of Jonesboro. She is also survived by grandchildren Brandon Cook, Zach and Cassie Cook, Kassie Cook, Jodie Cook, T. J. Smith, Dusty Smith, Justin and Hannah Cook, Leigh and Ryan McCallister, Heather West and Adam Herring, Kalie and Justin Crawford, Chris Autry, Adriana Bailey, 19 great grandchildren, brother, Hoppy Martin and wife Linda, sisters, Ann Butler and Sheila Davis and husband Ray Dean Davis all of Wynne, and sister-in-law, Annette Simmons of Wynne. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Luther and Eva Martin, husband, Maxie Joe (Doddle) Cook in 1997 daughter, Karen Elizabeth West, granddaughter, Brittney Cook, brothers, Thomas Martin, Howard Martin, Gene Martin, R. L. Martin and Charlie Martin, sisters, Agnes Peevey, Elizabeth "Mutt" Stroud and Catherine Lee. Visitation will be held at Kernodle Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 8, 2020, from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be held at Kernodle Funeral Home, on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 10 am. Burial will be in Forrest Park Cemetery, Forrest City, Arkansas. Rev. Ray D. Davis will officiate. In accordance with directives from the State of Arkansas, face masks are required for indoor funerals and visitations for anyone over the age of 10.
