Mrs. Dorothy Jean Cochran Burford, of Wynne, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at St. Bernard's Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the age of 89. She was born on April 3, 1927 in Mansfield, Tennessee to Homer Cochran and Ethel Hawks Cochran. She was young in spirit and loved to watch her grandchildren play ball, play bingo and dominoes and was an avid bowler and gardener. Dorothy was a member of the Vanndale First United Methodist Church. Survivors are her daughter, Myra Luker and husband Jim of Wynne; sister, Virginia Feathers of Martin, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Beverly Burford Steele of Cherry Valley, Arkansas; grandchildren, Stephanie Baskins, Keyle Smith and Stan Luker; step-grandsons, Jay Luker and Hunt Luker, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Eugene Burford in 2003 and her son, Raymond Eugene Burford in 1994. Visitation will be Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Kernodle Funeral Home Chapel from 10 AM until 11 AM with services following at 11 AM. Burial will be in Vanndale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family ask that memorials be made to the Vanndale First United Methodist Church.
