Charlene Doss Smith

Charlene Doss Smith, of Wynne, Arkansas, died on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Cross Ridge Community Hospital. Mrs. Smith was born on March 24, 1929, in Parkin, Arkansas, to Charlie and Dottie Greenwood Doss. She worked for Agricultural Stabilization Conservation Service for 36 years. She was a member of Harris Chapel Baptist Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, cooking and especially spending time with her grands and great grands. Charlene is survived by her daughter, Lynne Smith Clayton of Wynne, brother, Robert Dexter Doss of Montgomery, Alabama, sister, Lynda Baker of Wynne, daughter-in-law Donna Smith, of Okeechobee, Florida, grandchildren, Katie Clayton Brown and husband Matt of Wynne and Kendal Smith of Eureka Springs, great-grandchildren, Taylor Smith, Cassidy Smith, Madison Smith Horne, Gailey Kate Brown and Evelyn Brown. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Leo “Hot” Smith, son, Ronnie Smith, grandchild, Kristen Tate Smith, son-in-law, Bill Clayton, and siblings Helen Wood, Betty Marcum, Linwood Doss and Wayne Doss. Funeral services will be held on October 8, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Kernodle Funeral with Rev. Stewart Brooks officiating. Burial will be in Harris Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Harris Chapel Baptist Church, 12 CR 723, Wynne, Arkansas 72396.
