Betty Lou Doherty Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mrs. Betty Lou Doherty of Wynne died on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at her home. Betty was born in Wiener, Arkansas on January 9, 1925, to the late Frank and Barbara Gosler Hart. She worked in the nursery at the First United Methodist Church for many years. She volunteered during the blood drives at the hospital. Betty was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and was a woman of deep abiding faith. She was a member of Womens Auxiliary of the American Legion. Betty loved to tend to her yard and flowers and won Yard of The Month several times. Survivors are her sons, Jim Doherty and wife Tommye, Roy Doherty and wife Donna, Patrick Doherty and wife Debby, Thomas Doherty, Robert Doherty, John Paul Doherty and wife Pam, daughters, Rose Doherty, Dorothy Doherty and Lisa, and Stella Barry and husband Steven. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 7 great-great grandchildren. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Barbara Hart, husband, James Doherty in 2014, brothers, Richard, Roy and Lester Hart and sister, Josephine Hess. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 1, 2019, at Kernodle Funeral Home from 5 PM to 7 PM. Rosary will begin at 7 pm. Funeral services will be on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at St. Peter's Catholic Church at 10 AM. Burial will be in Cogbill Cemetery.
