Rosemarie "Bunny" Brown

Rosemarie “Bunny” Brown was called home to spend eternity with her Lord and Savior, Jesus. Christ, on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the age of 83. Born in 1942 in Jackson, Mississippi, Bunny was the beloved daughter of the late Bethel and Thelma Bostick Cole. From an early age, she had a special connection with nature, keeping a pet blue jay as a child and cultivating a lifelong love for birds—especially hummingbirds. On December 18, 1965, Bunny married the love of her life, Charlie Brown. She went on to graduate from nursing school on June 9, 1966. Though she cherished her time as a nurse, Bunny’s true calling was caring for others. She lovingly devoted much of her life to being a homemaker, where her nurturing spirit shone brightest. She was a faithful servant of Christ and a lifelong Presbyterian, serving the church faithfully for many years. She poured her heart into church life—managing the bulletin boards, keeping fresh flowers in the sanctuary, and playing a vital role in Vacation Bible School each year. Her love for the Lord was evident in all she did, especially in the way she joyfully shared her faith with others. In 2005, Bunny became a charter member of the Cross County Master Gardener Program, where she found another outlet for her deep love of flowers and the outdoors. She helped maintain public flowerbeds around town, leaving beauty wherever she went. Bunny was a woman of many passions. She found joy in photography, gardening, scrapbooking, writing heartfelt letters, cooking, and, most of all, spending cherished time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love for her children and grandchildren was immense and unconditional, a constant source of light in their lives. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bethel, and Thelma Bostick Cole. She is survived by her loving husband of nearly 60 years, Charlie Brown; her sons, Corbin and Roger Brown; her sister, Pat Outlaw (late Ben); her five grandchildren, Kelly Sewell (Christopher), Ashton Brown (Amber), Madison Cousins (Jordan), Josie Taylor (Rusty), and Sam Brown, and her three great-grandchildren, Waylon Taylor, Chloe Cousins, and Braxton Cousins. Bunny’s legacy is one of faith, family, and service. She will be remembered as a loving wife, friend, mother, and grandmother, for her warm spirit, her boundless kindness, and the beauty he brought to the world, through her flowers, her words, and the love she gave so freely. Let us honor and continue her legacy of making the world a better place by following her example to love, serve, and cherish one another. Visitation will be held at Kernodle Funeral Home, Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 10 AM until 11 AM. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM at Kernodle Funeral Home with burial in Ellis Chapel Cemetery. A very special thank you to Mrs. Wilson, who loved and cared for Bunny in her final days. She is an extraordinary example of an angel on earth. The staff at Gentivia Hospice were also blessings to our family throughout this journey.
