Charles Mack Stacy, 90, died peacefully at home surrounded by family and friends on Sunday, February 22, 2015. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2pm, Friday, Ridglea Presbyterian Church, 6201 Camp Bowie Blvd, Ft Worth. Visitation will be Sunday, 5 to 7 PM at Kernodle Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Monday, March `16, 2015 at 9:30 AM at Cogbill Cemetery with memorial services to follow at 10 AM at the Presbyterian Church. At 19, he enlisted in the Army and on D-day sailed on the Queen Mary to the beaches of Normandy. He was a radio operator in the 7th Armed Division and was involved in the Battle of the Bulge. He graduated from Georgia Tech in Electric Engineering. While attending Georgetown University in Washington D.C. he met Martha Brown and they married, September 14, 1950 in Silver Spring, Maryland. They moved to his hometown of Wynne and he worked for Arkansas Power & Light and was an Amateur Radio Operator. In 1958 the family moved to Fort Worth and he began his career with Convair Aerospace. Aviation kept his interest and he earned a private pilot’s license. After 32 years he retired from General Dynamics. Community was important to him and he supported many charitable and educational organizations. He and his wife made deliveries for Meals on Wheels. He was an avid reader and passed that down to his children with weekly visits to the downtown library. He served in many capacities at the Ridglea Presbyterian Church and passed his faith onto his family. SURVIVORS: Children, Jean Robinson and husband, Don and Weldon Stacy of Ft Worth, Nancy Voots and husband, Geary of Austin. Grandchildren, Alan Reynolds and his wife, Jamie of Dallas, Kevin Reynolds and his wife, Lindsey of Austin, Natalee and Mackenzie Voots of Austin. Great-grandchildren, Charlie Mack and Ayla Reynolds of Austin. Visitation will be Sunday, March 15, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM at Kernodle Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Monday, March 16, 2015 at Cogbill Cemetery at 9:30 AM with memorials services following at 10 at the Wynne Presbyterian Church.
