Louis Arthur Davidson

Mr. Louis Arthur Davidson, 79, of Wynne, Arkansas, died on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, in at the NEA Baptist Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Louis was born in Parkin, Arkansas, on June 16, 1944, to the late James Noble "Dynamite" Davidson and Thelma Pearl Blair Davidson. Louis known as Lefty to friends and family, grew up in Parkin, Arkansas and was a graduate of Parkin High School. Louis proudly served his country in the United States Army in Vietnam from 1966 to 1967. He returned home and married his sweetheart, Debra Faye Anderson in 1969. They made their home in Wynne and raised two girls, Rhonda and Cathrine. He was dedicated to Debra and his girls. After working for the Arkansas Highway Department briefly, Louis began a career in engineering, working for the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Wynne Area Office, Memphis District for more than 30 years. Louis and Deb loved to travel, Florida holding a special place in their hearts. Louis had a tremendous love for his Savior and his church, he would want to be remembered as a Christian first and a Baptist second. He was a member of Fitzgerald Crossing Baptist Church where he served in many capacities. Louis will be remembered as a remarkable husband and father, loyal friend, and that ever present twinkle in his eye. Louis is survived by the love of his life, Debra Anderson Davidson of the home, daughters, Rhonda Pierce and husband Mark of Wynne, Cathrine Mize and husband James of Booneville, sister, Mary Jo Farmer of West Memphis, grands, Taylor and wife Haley, Jacey, Cassie and husband Clint, and Lexie, great grands, Anabelle, Alaina, Granger and Maverick, his grandchildren and great grandchildren brought his so much joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Noble Davidson and Thelma Pearl Davidson, sisters, Brenda, Patricia and Virginia, and brothers, James N. Davidson, Jr. and Toney Blair Davidson. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27, 2023, at Fitzgerald Crossing Baptist Church, from 10 until 11 AM. Funeral services will begin at 11 am with Rev. Gary Henson officiating. Burial will be in Crosslawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Fitzgerald Crossing Baptist Church, 422 Hwy 1, Wynne, Arkansas 72396.
