Ida Mable Duvall

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of Ida Mable Duvall. She passed with peace and grace in the early morning of May 1, 2022, at Crestpark Nursing Home, with family by her side. She was born on February 5, 1925, in Morrilton, to Hurman Floyd and Ruby Blaylock. Her early life was spent in central Arkansas around the areas of Oppelo, Perry, Perryville, Russellville, and Morrilton. Mable married the love of her life, John Doyle Duvall of Perry, Arkansas, on March 1, 1942. She moved to Wynne in the early 1950’s. Mable was a seamstress at Rainfair for many years. Mable was a wonderful cook and could cook anything she wanted. She expressed her loved to her family through food. Some of the family’s favorites were her delightful coconut cream pie, her delicious fruit cocktail cake, her scrumptious peach and blackberry cobblers, her incredible fried chicken, her hearty homemade gravy, and biscuits, and too many others to mention. Before the “beast” of dementia took over her mind, Mable enjoyed tending to her many vegetables in her garden that she had every year. She loved smelling the roses and other beautiful flowers that grew in her yard. She enjoyed watching her daytime soap operas, especially All My Children, Days of Lives, and General Hospital. She loved spending her time at family gatherings reunions and visiting with friends and neighbors. She enjoyed reading her bible and worshiping her “Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” at Valley View Missionary Baptist Church of Wynne. Mable was preceded in death by her fathers, Hurman Floyd Blaylock, mother, Ruby Mae Blaylock Imler and stepfather Willie “Bill” Imler, sisters, Ruby Nell Blaylock, Anna Bernice “Neccie” Blaylock and brother Hurman Lesley “Sonny” Blaylock. Her greatest loss was her one and only child, her son, John Doyle Duvall, Jr. on April 3, 2001. Mable leaves behind brother, Bobby Franklin Blaylock and wife Emma of Wynne, and sister, Mary Evelyn Pierce of Texarkana, Arkansas. She was blessed with a special daughter-in-law, Francis Duvall of Wynne. She is also survived by grandchildren, Johnny Duvall (Tracy) of Quitmann, Sherry Duvall Calaway of Jonesboro, and Jeff Duvall (Melissa) of Wynne, great grandchildren, Jeremy Duvall of Heber Springs, Lauren and Leah Calaway of Jonesboro, Adam Duvall, Will Bostick, and Quinnley Bostick of Wynne, great-great grandchild, Jack Dawson Duvall of Heber Springs, and several nieces, nephews, family, and friends as well. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Cogbill Cemetery, at 3 pm. Kernodle Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
