Bobby Joe Griffin

Bobby Joe Griffin died on Wednesday, December 27, 2022, at his home, he was 81. Bobby Joe was born to Joe and Mabel Griffin on May 27, 1941, in Wynne, Arkansas. He lived all his life in the Smith Chapel community, where he dedicated himself to become the best professional farmer possible. Bobby Joe was an avid learner and problem solver. With his engineer’s analytical mind, he used creative techniques to modify equipment to extend its life and its productivity. Through his extensive on- line research, he identified and implemented innovative farming practices. Many hours were spent researching and studying The Bible. He was quick to share The Word and taught numerous Bible classes. Many years were spent at Smith Chapel church, where he was a founding member. To this day, he and his family work to maintain and manage Smith Chapel Cemetery. Bobby Joe married Jewell Maxine Clegg in 1959. Together, they worked hard and Bobby Joe’s adaptive approach to the changing farm environment allowed them to minimize overhead and maximize profit. Their marriage lasted 59 years until her death. Also preceding him in death were his mother, father and great grandson, Bronson Limkemann. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Daugherity (Tim), sons Tim (Renee), Chris and Glenn. He is also survived by grandchildren, Jesse, Jacob and Josie Griffin, Cody Smith, Michael Daugherity, Joanna Drake (Josh), Cynthia Dodson (Adam), and Beth Bross (Scott), great-grandchildren, Katheryn Decker, Delaney and Savannah Dodson. He is survived by one brother Gene (Frankie) and nieces Janet and Karen along with many friends and business associates. Visitation will be held at Kernodle Funeral Home, Friday, December 30, 2022, from 5 to 7 PM. Funeral services will be Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 10 AM at Kernodle Funeral Home. Burial will be in Smith Chapel Cemetery. Bro. Rickey Williams and Bro. Glenn South will officiate. Pallbearers will be Cody Smith, John Horton, Dwight Cook, Michael Daugherity, Jacob Griffin, and Darrell Hess.
